Local Rotaractor Shines Brightly in LA
Local Rotaractor, Lisa Burnett, 26, flew out to Los Angeles, USA this week to be inducted into the Rotary International Rotaract Committee.
Rotaract is a program of Rotary International, and gives thousands of 18-30 years olds around the world the opportunity to be part of a fun, dynamic and unique international organisation, offering a wide range of activities that will enable members to try something new, whilst having a great time and meeting others.
Rotaract offers a wide choice of social activities, actively supports the local community, raises money for charity and gives members the opportunity to develop personal skills and gain new life experiences in Great Britain & Ireland, and abroad.
Lisa is the President of Maidenhead Rotaract and a recent recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow, the highest honour you can be given by Rotary for services to charities and communities around the world. Whilst in Los Angeles she was invited to join the International Rotaract Committee, and is the only UK representative to hold a position.
In this new role she will play an important part in the future of Rotaract, helping to grow the organisation and shout about the good-will projects that take place throughout the world.
Lisa commented, “It is such an honour to be asked to join the International Committee, and it makes me very proud to think I can make a big difference to the organisation. I am passionate about Rotaract and want to shout about it, the benefits it gives to its members and the local community.”
