A Presidential Citation for local Volunteer Group

On Monday 7th July Maidenhead Rotaract was presented with a Presidential Citation from Rotary International.

 

The Presidential Citation is a special award given to Rotaract Clubs who strive to fulfil the ideals of Rotary International and it is presented at the discretion of the International President.

 

Maidenhead Rotaract were given the award demonstrating how Rotary Shares its talents, skills, and energy in order to create a better world.

 

Over the last year the club has raised considerable amounts of money for local, national and international charities and helped numerous volunteer groups on projects such as clearing the Maidenhead waterways, supporting the Longridge Water Activities Centre and helping with town events such as the Maidenhead Carnival.

 

The club has also had some great social events and played a large part in organising the European Rotaract Conference during April in London.

 

Lisa Burnett, President of Maidenhead Rotaract, commented “it is such an honour to receive this award from Wilf Wilkinson, President Rotary International 2007-08, and is a true testament to the hard work that the club has undertaken over the last year.”
